This tutorial by Olga Damman will focus on shared decision making.

The tutorial will address two key aspects of Shared Decision Making, namely: (1) risk communication and (2) values clarification. These are also key components of Patient Decision Aids, tools aimed to support patients in deliberation about medical options, Olga will present the state of the art as to those two aspects, as well as key dilemmas and research challenges. Specific attention will be paid to the issue of lower health literacy and numeracy.
